CodeMeter Installation
1. Plug your CmStick into a free USB port of your PC. The operating system will notify that a new USB device has been found which will be displayed as a drive named CODEMETER in the Windows Explorer.
2. Execute Start.exe on the CODEMETER drive, if the program does not start automatically.
3. Choose your language (Deutsch/English) to start the installation of the CodeMeter software with a click on the "CodeMeter Runtime" option.
4. Now start the installation of the additional software packages:
- CodeMeter Password Manager
- Steganos Safe Lite (only Windows 2000/XP 32bit)
Please follow the instructions of the setup and accept the licencse terms.
The setup automatically installs the CodeMeter Runtime Server as a service and launches the CodeMeter Control Center in your task bar.

Tip: Open the symbol of the CmStick on your task bar and activate the programm "CodeMeter Control Center". Choose the option "Enabled until plugged out ". With this option your data is safe, e.g. if you have lost your CmStick/M.
Important:
Your default password is "CodeMeter".
For protecting your CmStick against illegal access you should replaced it by an individual password.
You can change it using the CodeMeter Control Center.
Note: Please register your CmStick soon at my.codemeter.com.
Your CmStick only can be locked when it´s lost, if it is registered. If you should have forgotten your password, here you can apply for the master password of your CmStick, too, which can be used to set a new one.
